RP ARCHERy Team members and Olympians ruled their respective divisions but it was members of the Silliman University Dumaguete Archery Club (SUDAC) who drew attention as they topped most of their events in Saturday night's “Gold Medal Watch” of the 1st Cebu Archery Open Tournament at the Aboitiz field at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Olympian Mark Javier of team ASSO shot 107 points to clinch the gold in the recurve adult men.

His fellow Olympian SUDAC's Jennifer Chan was not so lucky as fierce rival Amaya Paz eclipsed her for the gold in the compound adult women after shooting a score of 111 points.

The country's no.1 compound archer, Earl Yap, once again dominated the field with 111 points to clinch gold in the compound adult men. SUDAC members, on the other hand, accounted for four gold finishes, four silvers and two bronze medals.

Marie Crizabelle Merto of SUDAC showed the accuracy which allowed her to bring home four gold medals in the 53rd Palarong Pambansa in Tarlac by clinching gold with 77 points in the recurve adult women.

The recurve junior men was dominated by SUDAC members with Jose Ferdinand Adriano grabbing the gold, Delfin Anthony Adriano (silver) and Sebastian Teves (bronze).

Fellow SUDAC member Schinitte Tingas also shot for gold in the distaff side.

The recurve cadet boys gold was clinched by John Mark Lapinig of Dapitan. The distaff side was ruled by MONARC's Monah Austin Laurente.
